Busy Weekend...

After a busy week at school, Brog and I were ready to head home for the weekend. We left as soon as we could on Friday and went to Mark and Verla's. They had just come home from a trip to Israel, and it was fun to hear about it. That night we went to Drew Matsen's baptism. We were all excited for him, and it was a special night for him. You could really feel the Spirit there, and we are all proud of him for making such a good choice. We then came home and relaxed in the hot tub. It was a fun time to catch up with family!

Saturday we took advantage and slept in a bit, which was nice. After breakfast Mark, Brant, and Brogan went to pick up a snowmobile from Tyson. They were so excited and couldn't wait any longer. Verla and I stayed home to watch kids and get a few other things done. I was putting a movie on for Tregan and Abree (my nephew and niece) and Tregan said, "Well Brittni, you and Brogan are going to start having kids soon huh?" To which I laughed and said "No, not soon!" Tregan came back at me with "Well it's about that time!" I couldn't help but laugh at getting a lecture from my almost five year old nephew!
We later went to lunch with everyone for Grandpa Wrigley's birthday. It was fun to spend time with them and all the kids. Later that night it was my Grandma and Grandpa Woodhouse's 50th Anniversary, so we spent the evening at their open house. It was fun to visit with everyone that came, and my Grandparents were pleased and excited with how it turned out.

It was a fun weekend, and we are excited to head back for Thanksgiving!

Happy Birthday Brog!

Brogan turned the big 23 on November 8th. We both skipped our first classes so we could sleep in a bit then eat a good breakfast together. While breakfast was cooking, Brogan opened his presents. He is just like a little kid and had been pestering me all week to give him hints about what they were!
His parents had come down the Thursday before to take us to dinner before he left, and they got him some nice Klim snowpants, which he was extremely excited about. My parents also came on Saturday to bring down the piano, and they gave him a Boise State Jersey, so he was pretty excited about that as well. He had already guessed one of the gifts he was getting from me, and he totally got me off guard, so I wasn't even able to come up with a good lie, and I was so mad that he had spoiled the surprise! I gave him the Settlers of Catan game, some sunglasses, and a new coat.

We couldn't skip our afternoon classes, so we went then after class we went over to Renegade sports and went miniature golfing. Miniature golfing has become an activity Brog and I enjoy doing together, and we seem to go whenever we get the chance. It was a little cold, but we still had fun. Then we came home and had finger steaks for dinner, and ate some birthday cake. We didn't have matches, so we just used our gas stove to light the candles.
It was a fun day, and I enjoyed being able to spend it with him. Happy Birthday Brog! I love you!

Happy Halloween...

(This post is a little late, but I'm working at catching it up since I just got started.) Brog and I didn't do a whole lot for Halloween, but we had fun. Earlier that week we went to the pumpkin walk. We went to it last year, and it was fun to see all the different things they came up with, and we enjoyed it again this year!
We loved the Angry Birds. It was pretty good.

Halloween night we watched Prison Break and enjoyed having cute little trick-or-treaters coming to our door.

Blue and Orange

Brog and I went to the Boise State game with his family on October 22. We drove to Boise on Friday and stayed over night. Saturday morning we got up and did some shopping then went to the game. We all love Boise State, and it was such a fun game!!
Brog took my brothers to the game this last weekend against TCU, and they had a lot of fun, but we are all so sad they lost!

The Honeymoon...

Brog and I had so much fun on our honeymoon. It was nice to get away once everything was done and just finally relax! We left our reception around ten and flew right out of Burley. We were very lucky to have such great friends and family that stayed to clean everything up so were able to just go and get on our way to St. George!
The plane ride!
We finally landed in St. George around one in the morning. Then we had to wait a little while for our taxi to arrive. The next day we slept in for a long time, and it felt great. We spent the day by the pool enjoying the sunshine. We stayed at the Inn at Entranada, and it was way nice. The view out our back door was gorgeous, and we always seemed to have tons of ducks in the pond, which Brog and I enjoyed feeding!
Our backyard!

We were totally entertained by these little guys

We didn't have a car, so we couldn't get very far (didn't mean to rhyme there). So we called up Shawn (the pilot) and he came to get us, so we could go rent a car. We got to drive a black Ford Mustang around for a few days, and we had so much fun! I love mustangs!
Really wish we could have drove this thing home :)
Now that we had a car, the next day we decided to do some exploring. I'm not much of a hiker, but we hiked to a couple different waterfalls and little swimming areas. I can't remember the names of them, but they were cool, and the hiking wasn't so bad. St. George is a gorgeous place!
The next day was our trip to Vegas. Our pilot let us each take a turn flying the plane on the way there, and we got to fly over the Grand Canyon. It was so much fun. Once we got to Vegas we went to pick up our tickets for the show La Reve. We walked around a bit then went to get our seats. The show was amazing. I have no idea what the story line was, but they did so many cool things there was never a dull moment. Brog and I have both said it is one we would love to see again!!

We had so much fun the four days we had to spend in St. George. We weren't very excited to have to come back to real life!

Time and All Eternity...

June 3, 2011 couldn't have been a more perfect day! I got to marry my best friend in the Salt Lake Temple. We were both a little nervous, but also excited. It seemed like we had been waiting for this day forever. Our ceremony took a little longer than most :), but we received some good advice. Our sealer told us to make sure we go to the temple often. He said we need to set a date and go no matter what else comes up. Then the minute we get home we need to sit down and plan the next date. He also told us to each make sure we do something everyday that makes the other happy. It is advice we are doing our best to follow.

We then took pictures, and we had some fun doing that. We took a picture with our grandparents and the photographer said "Ok, now everyone kiss your spouse!" Neither of my grandparents would do it, but anyone who knows Grandpa Wrigley knows he takes orders like that very seriously!
We love our grandparents!

It was a perfect day and one we will never forget. Thanks to everyone that came and supported us!

The Engagement...

I convinced Brogan to transfer from BYU-I to Utah State with me, and we spent a lot of time together. We eventually started talking a little bit about the possibility of getting married, so I was expecting him to propose at any time. I waited and waited and waited because Brog was really hoping to catch me off guard. Finally on February 20, 2011 he popped the question.

We were staying in a cabin in Island Park with my family, and we had been out snowmobiling all day. That night we were watching a movie and just trying to relax because we were all exhausted. In the middle of the movie, I got up to run up to the room my sister and I were sharing to get some chapstick. As I was sitting on the bed applying it to my lips, I looked up and saw Brogan standing in the door way. He said he had been meaning to ask me something for awhile and right then he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him. Of course I said YES.
Everyone likes to tease Brog because he didn't propose in the most romantic way. But truth is, I loved it. He totally caught me by surprise, and the proposal was just so HIM. It couldn't have been a better weekend.

Our Story...

It all began the summer before my freshman year of high school. I was babysitting Brogan's cousins, and his Aunt Emy called to tell him he should come talk to me. She told him to just pretend he had left a sweatshirt or something over at their house so it wouldn't be awkward. He came in, and I was soooo embarrassed! I hadn't done much to get ready to go babysitting. We sat and talked for awhile until his dad called and told him to get back to work.

The first time we really spent time together was at the Homecoming Dance. Brogan asked me to dance then asked if I wanted to go hang out with him and his friends after. I told him I would, but I wasn't sure my parents would let me go off with a whole bunch of senior boys. So Brogan decided he would call and ask them. He was hoping Sister Duncan (as he called her then) would answer the phone, but instead it was Papa Jason. Brog didn't let it phase him and just asked if I could go. I don't know if my dad was just impressed that he had the guts to call or what, but he said I could.

The rest of my freshman year we spent quite a bit of time together, and became good friends. I had a hard time watching Brog leave on his mission because I had no idea what to expect when he came home, but I knew he was doing the right thing, and I am so proud of him for going and serving a full time mission.
