We're Gonna Miss This...

The semester is finally over, and Brogan and I cannot even describe how happy we are. We were so exicted to be done with finals and have a break, but at the same time we are also going to miss the easygoing semester we had. Next semester our schedules are so different. When I am home he is gone to class, and when I'm at class he is home. We are also going to be looking for jobs. It will still be great, but I know we are going to miss all the free time we had to be with each other and just goof off. We had lots of time on our hands to sit and talk about anything, play Tetris, Settlers of Catan, Uno, Battleship, and any other game we could come up with that could be played with just two. We finished the Prison Break seasons and always enjoyed watching Amazing Race and Surviror together. We were almost always home to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner together. Next semester is going to be a little more busy, but we are looking forward to it.

Now we are both exited to spend our Christmas break in Island Park with my family and then off to Chile and Jamaica right after Christmas. We are looking forward to spending our first Christmas together, and we cannot wait for all that life has yet to bring. We laugh about how excited we will be to be done with school, to get out of our little tiny apartment, and move home for good, but I know we will also miss the good times we have had and are yet to have in Logan. We are enjoying every minute!

MMA Fighting...

Rulon Gardner hosted an MMA Fight here in Logan. I saw it on a flyer, and I knew Brogan would love it so we decided to go. It was insane how many people showed up to watch. They weren't expecting near as many to come, so it started a little late because they were trying to get everyone in that they could. They still couldn't get everyone in, and we could see some people standing outside watching it through the windows. It was way loud in there, but it was fun. We had some funny ladies sitting next to us that had a friend fighting, and they would give us all sorts of information on each fighter. We were lucky to be sitting by them.

The fights were all just ok. Nothing too big happened, and if it started to get too serious the ref would stop it, which was lame. The best fight was the one between two girls. They were ready to fight. The ref had his back turned and they were already about to go at it before he had even started their match. Even he almost couldn't help but laugh. One of the girls said she has 7 kids, and she beat up a Utah State rugby player. It was pretty funny and entertaining to watch.

I wouldn't say it was my favorite thing we have been to, and it's not something either of us are really going to get into and follow, but it was fun. We were both glad to get the experience of going.

Our First Christmas Tree...

Yesterday Brog and I went to get some groceries, and we also got stuff for our Christmas tree. The top set of lights were out, so we had to replace those, and that was quite the job. I never knew twisting lights around could take so long. I'm lucky my husband loves me, and he took over after I had struggled with it for awhile. The tree looks a lot better than it did when we started out. I never thought I'd have a blue Christmas tree, but it turned out better than I imagined, and I really like it! (I'm also quite proud of the bow I made...I'm getting more crafty all the time :) ha at least I like to think so) Brog and I both think it turned out pretty good for our first Christmas tree!

Catching Up....

I have been meaning to post all this for awhile now, but life has just been busy. I've finally got homework done and a spare minute, so I'm going to do a little catching up.
11/24/11... Happy Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was a great day. Brog went to play basketball that morning with some friends, and I got up to help my mom prepare dinner. It was good to be able to spend some time with her, and I've decided I'd better start learning how to make some of the traditional Thanksgiving dishes. We ate with my family, and dinner was delicious. We stayed long enough to do the dishes and chat for a bit, then we headed over to spend time with the Wrigley bunch. We chatted there for awhile, but it wasn't long before the boys were getting everything ready to shoot shotguns. They are all pretty good, and it was fun to watch them. Once they ran out of clay pigeons, we all went inside, and the cousins played a game of Wacky 6. It got pretty competitive, but we had a good time. We stayed and chatted awhile longer then people started heading home.
I had been trying to think of some Christmas gift ideas for Brogan, and my mom had suggested a Wii. I wasn't sure whether he would really go for that or not, so I decided to run it past him. He wasn't thrilled with the idea, but somehow we got talking about well what about an Xbox 360 Kinect? Jaxon had one down in his room, so we decided to try it out. We had a lot of fun and decided it was something we could maybe get each other for Christmas. WalMart was having some great sale, so we decided we'd make our way over there to try to get one. We had just left when Aunt Edith called and said they had already handed out coupons for the first 30 people there to get them, so we turned around and went home. This began another entire shopping adventure, but before I get into that I want to mention just a few things I'm grateful for this year.

1. I am grateful for the Gospel. (Where would we be without it?)
2. I am so grateful for my wonderful husband. He is my best friend, and I am so lucky I get to spend all eternity with him.
3. I am grateful for my family. They really are the greatest!
4. I am grateful for good in laws. One of the hardest things about getting married is splitting up time between the two families, but it sure does make it easier when you've got a great family on both sides!
5. I am grateful for the opportunity to get an education. Even though right now I feel like I'm hating it and ready to be done, I know a degree is something I will be thankful to have.

I could go on more, but I've got lots more to catch up on, so I will leave it at that. Happy Thanksgiving!

11/25/11....Black Friday!
Thursday night around 11:00 my parents, Mariah, Keegan, and I all headed to Twin to begin our all night Black Friday shopping. We all talked and laughed the whole way there, and it was so fun. Brogan and Jackson stayed home and decided they would come meet us the next morning for breakfast. We went to Macy's just to look around, and the place was a zoo! You couldn't even get around in there, so that got old quick and we left and headed to Shopko. We bought a few games there and our Christmas pajamas, but nothin too special. We mainly went because I was after the Xbox Kinect. Shopko's checkout line was a joke. We stood there for over an hour, but we kept good attitudes and tried to enjoy ourselves.

Once we got out finally got out of there, Mariah decided she had had enough, so she crawled in the backseat and went to sleep. Keegan was wide awake and chipper the whole time. He was so funny! My parents dropped me off at Sears, so I could stand in line in hopes of being able to get the Xbox, and they went to grab a bite to eat. The girls behind me had both married guys from Malta, and the girl that came behind them was from Alamo, so I passed the time talking to them. Once my parents came back, Keegan came and stood in line with me for awhile. It was freezing, but we had a good time. (I'll post our picture later!) As soon as the doors opened, Keegan and I started running towards the electronics. I had no idea where they were, so I asked the first employee I saw. He said he would go check, and he came back and told me it was an online item only, but they could order it for me. So I stood in another line waiting to order one. I finally got to the front, and they told me they were totally sold out. I was frustrated, but still hopeful because Radio Shack had the same deal going, and they didn't open until 5:30 a.m. (it was a little before 4:00 at this point)

We ran to Radio Shack, and their doors were already open. They said because they were a mall store, they could open the same time as the mall. Well they were all out of the Xbox's as well, but once again they told me they could order it online. So once again I stood in line, and they guy at the register was taking forever! I finally got to the front of the line, and he took forever on the computer, and then finally told me they were completely out of stock once again, and there was no way to get it. I was so tired and frustrated at this point, and it made me so mad! We decided after that to just head home. I texted Brogan and told him and Jackson not to worry about coming, and the ride home was a lot more quiet than the ride there. We have decided we are never going Black Friday shopping again! All of us except Keegan that is. At least he still seemed to have a good time!

It seems like Friday should have been over by the time I wrote all of that, but we made it home around 6:00 a.m. and I slept in until almost noon. Brogan had gone out to work, so once I was ready he came to pick me up, and I went with all the girls to Breaking Dawn. I haven't been a big fan of the Twilight movies so far, but it wasn't bad. Later that night we all went to Grandma and Grandpa Wrigley's to play Pinochle. I'm not a big fan of the game, so I stayed and chatted with some of the others instead, but Brog went out to learn.

11/26/11...Birth Control
Saturday Brant and Leslie left for the Boise State game, and Ryn & Kerri had left the day before, so we had all of their children. Mark and Verla had to go to the temple, so Brog and I were left with all the kids. It was a lot of work, but it was also a lot of fun. They are all cute kids, and we had so much fun playing with them and listening to all their stories. (I think Brog loves having an excuse to play football on the Nintendo!) Once Mark and Verla came home, Brog and I both passed out on the couch. We were pooped! We've both decided it will be ok to keep waiting awhile before we decide to have kids, but it was such a fun day. We love all our nieces and nephews, we missed Kree and wished we could have added him to the bunch!

That night Brogan's roommate from BYU-I, Zach Pugmire and his wife Kristy came over for dinner and some games. We ate hamburgers and introduced them to one of our favorite games Settlers of Catan. We then played Catch a Phrase. It was so fun to see them, and we wish we could get together with them more often!

11/27/11....Tangled
Sunday was another good day, but the best part was the Darrington fireside. It was the first one I had been to, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I thought it was so good. It was fun to see everyone and catch up a bit. It seems like when Brog and I come home, we have just enough time to be with our families, and we don't usually make it to see anyone else.

The program was based on the storyline of the movie Tangled. Holly told the story and compared the king to our Heavenly Father. She talked about how we are all His lost children, and how He will be so happy when we return to Him just as the king on Tangled was. All the little girls then sang the song I See the Light from the moive. Ellie was dressed as Rapunzel, and it was so cute. After the lesson, we all got to go out and light floating lanterns. It looked so cool and so pretty as we let them all go. I wish I had taken picture to share. The kids loved it, and it was such a fun sight to see.

That night Brog and I made our trip back to Logan. Once we got home, I had some homework to do, but we decided we'd take a quick look to see if there were going to be any good deals on an Xbox for Cyber Monday...well it took about two minutes. The first site we clicked on had them for the exact same deal that had been advertised on Black Friday, and we didn't even have to wait until midnight or anything. So we ordered it. I couldn't believe how easy it was, especially after spending all night in the freezing cold trying to get one of those darn things!
