Blue Angels

Brogan and I had been needing to get away and spend a little time just the two of us, so when we saw advertisements for the Magic Valley Air Show, we decided to go check it out. We were kinda naughty and went on a Sunday because with grain harvest going it was really the only time we could go. The show was a little long, and it was really hot, but it was still fun. We enjoyed watching the different planes and the different things each could do. The best part was the Blue Angels. The different maneuvers they did were awesome. At one point in the show, they had one come from behind, and it was amazing how you couldn't hear it until it was already right there over you. It kinda scared everyone, and as everyone was distracted and laughing from the first jet, they did it again! Brogan and I both decided we wouldn't want to be attacked by one of those things because once you realize they are even there it is too late! It was a fun show to see, and it was nice to get away for a day!

Wrigley Reunion

This year the Wrigley reunion was in Bear Lake. Brogan and I headed up Friday afternoon once I got off work. I had my praxis test on Saturday, which is extremely important. I had to pass it in order to student teach, so once we got up there I just studied until dinner time. Dinner was really good and soon after Larry and Melanie's family talked about their trip to Ecuador. It was really fun to listen to them. We weren't able to stay through the whole thing because I had to get back to Logan, so I could be ready for my test the next morning. We stayed the night in our apartment, and I got up early to be to my test at 7:30. I still won't know my score for a little while, which makes me nervous, but I think it went alright. As soon as I was done, Brogan picked me up and we headed right back to Bear Lake to spend the day boating, jet skiing, and swimming. Bear Lake is way nice, and it was a lot of fun! We got back in time to play a game of miniature golf with Keegen and Garrett before the rain hit. After the rain was gone, and we had eaten dinner,  we had the Wrigley Redneck Olympics. The games were way fun and creative, and we really had a good time!! I'm pretty sure Brogan's team got last place, and mine got second to last, but we had a blast anyway. We always look forward to the Wrigley reunion!

Time for a Haircut...

Anyone that knows Brogan knows that he has extremely thick hair, and it grows really really fast! I swear he needs a haircut every other week. When we are down in Logan, he has Aspen cut it. The problem is when we are here in Declo, she isn't around often enough to cut it for him. Brogan refuses to pay anyone to cut his hair, which leaves me to do it. I have never cut anyone's hair before so he was a little nervous allowing me to do it, and I don't blame him I would be to! Verla helped me out a little by getting me started and kinda guiding me through the process, but for the most part it was just me doin the best I could.

I think for the most part it turned out ok! He has a little calic in the front, which makes it hard to get it straight, so I'll keep working on that, but I was pretty proud of myself for the first time ever cutting hair!

One Year Anniversary

It is a little crazy to think Brogan and I have already been married for a year! It does not seem like that much time has gone by. To celebrate, we went to Hagerman to sit in the hot pots and get a massage. Our massages turned out to be more like a beat down, and we were almost more sore after them. Then it turned out to be a pretty hot day, so our hot tub nearly burned our skin (we didn't end up staying in there for long!) So Hagerman didn't go quite as we had expected, but it was still fun to spend that time together, and it gave us something to laugh about. We drove to Boise to stay the night and ordered in Domino's pizza because it has kinda become our tradition to order it whenever we go stay somewhere, and it was delicious!
The next morning we opted to eat our Domino's pizza for breakfast because the continental breakfast didn't look to good. Then after getting ready, we decided to go ahead and just finish it off for lunch as well rather than paying for something else and having to take the pizza with us. We love Domino's, but after three meals we were looking forward to having something else for dinner! Our day was totally unplanned, and it couldn't have turned out to be any better.
Miniature golf has always been something Brogan and I enjoy doing together, so we first found somewhere that we could play.  For the first time I ever, I even won the game!! I was pretty excited because I beat Brogan pretty good and it was fair and square (and that never happens!) Then as we were driving around to find our next adventure, we spotted some sort of discovery museum so we thought we'd stop in and check it out. Turns out it cost just enough money to get in to change Brogan and I's mind, but we found something else to do instead. We saw all these people on paddle boats, so we walked around and found where we could get one.
Brogan insisted that we get the duck one. Everyone else had the blue ones you can see in the background.

It turned out the zoo wasn't far from where we were, so we walked there and spent some time with the animals. We went into a butterfly exhibit, and all Brogan wanted was for a butterfly to land on him, and he lucked out. We also fed the goats and enjoyed watching the monkeys.

We finished off the night with dinner at Red Robin then stopped in to wish my grandma Happy Birthday. It was so nice to get away just the two of us, we haven't had many opportunities like that this summer. Thanks Brogan for the fun weekend!! This past year has been the best, and I am looking forward to many more like it! I love you!!

Supercross

My parents got tickets to go to Supercross in Salt Lake and invited us to go. It wasn't a real exciting race because Villapodo was already so far ahead in the points race because so many racers had been injured throughout the season, so everyone knew he was going to win. We still managed to have a good time though!
We were all able to go back into the pits, so the boys decided to race the Traxxas cars.

Happenings

There is nothing too new or exciting going on. Both of us are still busy with school trying to finish up our papers and projects before the end of the semester. We've still been trying to decide exactly what we are going to do this summer, and it has been a STRUGGLE! I have to stay in Utah to get my residency, but Brogan needs to be in Idaho to farm. Neither of us is very excited about having to be separated most of the summer, so we are still trying to find a way around that. In the meantime, we are just trying to enjoy the rest of this month that we do get to be together. In between all my school work, I've really enjoyed completing some Pinterest projects. Here are a couple of the latest crafts.

I've really started enjoying doing things like this, and hopefully if Brogan and I are separated this summer, I will be able to find more of these kinds of things to do to keep me busy.

Spring Break

We didn't do anything too exciting for spring break, but we had a good time. We left Friday night for Island Park to snowmobile for a couple days with my family. We left a few hours earlier than my family so we were able to stop and hang out with Bow, Danni, Zach, and Kristy. We played a few games and watched a movie so that was fun. We didn't get to Island Park until about two in the morning so we unloaded all our stuff and headed to bed. The snow was pretty crusty, so it wasn't the best snowmobiling ever, but it was still fun.

We spent the next couple days hanging out with my family. Brogan had to be working, so I just kinda chilled and caught up on some projects. Wednesday I went to Twin with my mom for a girls day just to get out and have some fun. Then that night we headed to Mark and Verla's and stayed there. Thursday I went to Kimberly to watch Mariah and Jackson compete in a track meet. They both did really well, and it was fun to be able to watch them. I left the meet a little early to make it back to meet Brogan and his parents at the movie.

Friday the boys went snowmobiling so Verla, Kelsi, Leslie, and I took the kids to eat and did a little grocery shopping. Once the guys came back the whole family went on a date (without the children). We played foosball, pool, and went bowling. The whole thing was a tournament, and it was a lot of fun. Brogan had been bragging that we were the most athletic couple just trying to be competitive and of course our team lost, so he probably got what he deserved. It was fun to be able to spend time with all the adults without kids running around though. Saturday Mark and Verla headed to Boise for a single's ward activity, so Brog and I just kinda hung out all day then went in to Brant's that night to watch the supercross races. Sunday Mark made an executive decision and cancelled church because the power was out. Brogan and I still went to another sacrament meeting because it was my cousin Parker's farewell. He did a good job, and we could tell that he was excited and ready to go. We came back ate Sunday dinner, watched the Amazing Race, then headed for home.

It was a really fun week, but I was also glad to be back home. This week we have just been busy catching back up on school work and getting back to real life. We are both getting pretty excited for the semester to be over and for summer to get here.

Home Sweet Home

Brogan and I have been looking for apartments because we are looking to move out of Aggie Village for the summer. So I decided I would post some pictures of our apartment because it will be fun to look back at the first little place we lived (besides the trailer). We figured it would be kinda fun to look back and laugh at our washer in the bathroom and the sliding cupboards that seem like every single one is always open because they are a pain. (I closed them for the picture). We will not really miss the cinder block walls and being able to hear the opera singer living above us, but we are going to miss some of our neighbors. Especially Travis and Blair. It seems like we do something with them every day. We are trying to convince them to move with us, but if they don't we sure hope we continue hanging out as often as we do now. Thursday night Blair invited me to a craft and recipe night she does with some friends at work. It was a lot of fun, and I am excited to keep going every month. We made some cute burlap wreaths, and I am pretty proud of myself, so I couldn't help posting a picture of it.

President's Day Weekend

Once again it has been a little while, and one day I will get better at keeping this up. This last weekend was a long one because Monday was President's Day so we had no school. Brogan and I were bound and determined to find somewhere to go and something to do. It turned out to be a pretty good weekend. Friday we drove down to Pocatello to visit our new little nephew Treker Darrington. He is so cute, and we are so excited to have another little nephew around. Saturday we did a little apartment hunting because we are looking for somewhere to live this next summer, and that night we went to the Utah State Basketball game.

Sunday we slept in a bit then got things ready to go. We went to church with Shane and Aspen then headed out for Salt Lake. We shared a hotel room, and it was quite the hotel we stayed in. It looked like someone had already broken in through the window at one point, which made us all laugh and caused Aspen to dead bolt the door. We went down to sit in the hot tub, and there were no towels. Brogan and Shane went to get some, and they came back with what looked like two little hand towels because that was all they had. We spent the rest of the evening playing cards.

Monday we went down and ate breakfast then headed out shopping. We shopped all day long until I didn't think I could take anymore. Finally, Zach, Kristy, Bow and Danni  (Brogan's roommates from BYU-I and their wives) showed up. Our neighbors Travis and Blair also came to meet us, and we ate at the California Pizza Kitchen. Then we were off to the big event of the evening. The Utah Jazz game. We got tickets for like five dollars and sat clear at the top, but it was still really fun. It was fun to get to see everyone and to just get away for a day.

Chile & Jamaica

The day after Christmas, Mark, Verla, Brogan, and I headed off to Chile to go visit Brogan's mission. It was a really fun experience. We visited three of Brogan's areas Copiapo, Antofagasta, and Iquique. The people were all so nice. Everywhere you went they would bring you a drink whether you wanted one or not, and they were some of the most generous people I have ever met. Brogan was in heaven the entire trip. He loved being able to be back in the atmosphere, eating the food, and especially visiting the people. I enjoyed Chile, but I could never live there. I struggled with the food at times, and I got tired of not being able to understand anything. I was so excited when I was able to come back and hear English again. Throughout the trip we were on nine different flights, and one all night bus ride, so we were pretty exhausted. It was a great experience though, and I am glad Brogan was able to go back.

As we were planning the trip, Mark and Verla decided to make it a little more of a vacation for the rest of us as well. So after going to Chile, we were able to spend four days in Jamaica. The resort we stayed in was really nice, and we all had a lot of fun. It was windy the entire time we were there, so there was only one day where we were really able to enjoy most of the water sports, but it was still great to just enjoy the sunshine. Mark and Brogan were able to go scuba diving one day, so Verla and I went and pampered ourselves a little with a massage and facial. The day we had to leave was the nicest day we were there. The wind had quit blowing, so were all a little bummed to have to leave, but we were also all ready to come home again. It was a fun trip with lots of good laughs!

Time to Catch Up...

I've really been slacking lately! We were gone all Christmas Break, and it's just been busy since then. Over Christmas we were able to go to the cabin in Island Park with my family for a few days. There was no snow, so we were only able to go on one little short ride, and there wasn't much we could do. We all had to be careful not to hit something. So most of our time was spent inside the cabin playing games and watching movies, and it still turned out to be a lot of fun!

We were able to watch the Boise State game in order to celebrate Verla's birthday with everyone when we got back. After the game, we headed over to visit Brad who'd just come home from his mission. Everyone is so glad to have him back! Christmas Eve was also spent at Mark and Verla's. It was a lot of fun. The whole family was able to be there and Grandma and Grandpa Wrigley were able to join us as well. We ate a wonderful dinner then all got in a circle to play a game. We played the game where as someone reads a story, you pass presents left and right. Between all the kids and Grandpa Wrigley it was quite the experience. The kids then all got dressed up in little nativity outfits while Mark read the Christmas story. They all looked so cute! It was so fun to watch all of them open presents and participate in all the scavenger hunts!

Christmas Day was spent with my family. Bridger came in early to wake Brogan and I up, and we all headed upstairs to wake my parents up. My siblings were all able to see what Santa brought then we had breakfast and got ready for church. The Christmas program was really good, but my brothers were pretty antsy to get home and finish opening up presents. After every present Bridger would open, he would jump up and down and say "Yes! This is exactly what I wanted!" We all couldn't help but laugh at him. The rest of the day we played games, hung out, and enjoyed each other's company. It was a great Christmas!
